ABOUT ME

I am a professional land conservationist specializing in innovation in conservation finance. I advise organizations and individuals on new funding and financing strategies, and where and how to find money to conserve land. I develop new funding strategies myself, and research other innovations, consult, teach and write.

I am currently writing the second volume of A Field Guide To Conservation Finance, which will describe the newest funding and financing opportunities for conservation. I am also writing an accessible guide to nonprofit fundraising during the recession and beyond.

Both books are written for broad audiences; for anyone who would like to gain new skills so they can be more effective contributors to community and global conservation and social well-being.

I work primarily with staffs and boards of organizations to broaden their thinking about conservation finance tools, and teach and speak at universities and conferences. While my availability for the next year is limited, I am available for short engagements.
